Earl Richard Baker

Earl Richard Baker, age 86, resident of Coweta went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, October 21, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Richard was born on August 7, 1931 to Orvil and Helen Marie (Boger) Baker in Davis City, IA. He married the love of his life, Loreva Faye Gilbert on January 10, 1955 in Billings, MT. Richard worked at American Airlines for 13 years until he retired in 1990. He had also worked at Braden Winch, Loffland Brothers Company and he was a painter and carpenter with his father. Richard was a member of the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, bowling, watching OU football and he loved spending time with his family. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Orvil and Helen Baker-Moore, 1 sister, Sharon Moore and 1 brother, Duane Baker. Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Loreva Baker of the home in Coweta, OK; 3 sons, Rick Baker of Coweta, OK, Randy Baker of Coweta, OK and Kevin Baker of Haskell, OK; 1 daughter, Kerri Lee of Coweta, OK; 5 sisters, Susala McElhinney of Worland, WY, Patty Giles of Powell, WY, Mary Russell of Basin, WY, Darlene Woolhiser of Cassville, MO and Orville McDaniel of Springs, TX; 8 grandchildren, Shaylen Vanbeber, Joshua Lee, Miranda Baker, Karen Baker, Jennifer Lee, Matthew Lee, Seth Baker and Melissa Lee; 4 great grandchildren, Jacob Lee, Rylie Lee, Ryker Vanbeber and Kysen Vanbeber; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 PM. Services celebrating Richard's life will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, OK with Pastor Larry Duncan officiating and Pastor D. Frank Hughes and Pastor Clive Jared assisting. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilyfuneralhome.com.
