Douglas Everett Walters, caring husband of Leslie Walters, loving father of Curtis Walters, Craig Walters, Chalyn McKee, and Colleen Hayden, brother of James Walters, and grandpa of six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Douglas went to be with the Lord Jesus on November 29th, 2022 in his home with his loving family.
Douglas was born in Oak Park, Illinois on October 3rd, 1940 to Everett and Virginia Walters. Raised by a father who was a pianist, he played the trumpet amongst other instruments throughout attending Elmwood Park High School and Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was an entrepreneur at heart and enjoyed the challenges of his varied businesses. You could see his love for trains anywhere in his home, take a ride in his cars and you would know this man had a detailed love for both cars, and trains. The amazing beauty of this country always brought joy to his heart which showed in his great patriotism for this country and for the constitution that our founding fathers established. The sunsets and night sky were his favorite ways to relax along with listening to classical and jazz artists. He brought so much richness to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him and loved him.
There are no services planned at this time for Douglas.
