Douglas Lantroop

Douglas P. Lantroop, age 61, of Coweta passed from this life on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 after a tragic accident in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on November 12, 1947 in Ringold, Oklahoma to Fred and Hazel (Parsons) Lantroop. Douglas was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather to his family. He received his education in the Hayfork, California school system. He and Sandy Booth were united in marriage on March 4, 1976 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Douglas was self employed as a truck driver for D & S Lantroop Trucking. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. His hobbies included guns, reloading, target shooting, hunting, fishing, and reading. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Douglas is lovingly survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandy of the home; his son, Hoot Owl Bowers and his wife, Sherry, of Haskell; his daughters, Kimberly Tackett and her husband, Keith, of Wagoner, Candace Carter and her husband, Gary of Coweta, and Marcie Lantroop of Portland, Oregon; his brothers, Gary Lantroop and his wife, Kathy, of Dallas, Texas, Vernon Lantroop of Oklahoma City, and Joe Lantroop and his wife, Sandra, of Oklahoma City; his sisters, Bonnie Pulliam of Coweta, Unokie Minor and her husband, Bill, of Shasta Lake City, California, and Mary Grubbs of Norman; 8 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services for Douglas will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2009 at First Assembly of God Church in Wagoner. The Rev. Rich Young will officiate the service with Pastor Gary Rogers assisting. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta.
