Doshie Loyd-Chandler, age 87, resident of Coweta went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday evening, October 31, 2019 at her home in Coweta, OK surrounded by her family. Doshie was born September 25, 1932 in Claremore, OK and was the daughter of Rocky Troglin and Doshie Mae (West) Dardin. She graduated as Valedictorian of her graduating class at Claremore High School in Claremore, OK. She went to Northeastern State University where she graduated with her Master's Degree in Library and English. Doshie was an English Professor and Librarian at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Rogers State University in Claremore, Tulsa University, Oklahoma State University, and taught for 30 years at East Central High School in Tulsa. She retired from Tulsa Community College. Doshie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coweta and taught Sunday School for most of her life. Doshie had a special gift for teaching and loved it. She enjoyed going to garage sales and collecting antiques. Doshie and her late husband, William "Doc" Jamison Chandler enjoyed their home in Western Colorado where they entertained their Oklahoma friends, family, and "locals" all summer. Doshie loved her family and she enjoyed spending time with them. Doshie is survived by her two sons, Mike E. Loyd and wife Dena and Brad M. Loyd of Coweta, OK; one sister, Mary Ann Gritts of Okmulgee, OK; three grandchildren, Jessica Hagans and husband Cory, Michael Loyd and fiancé Chelsea, and Christopher Loyd and wife Carrie; three great grandchildren, Olivia Hagans, Beau Loyd, and Rozlyn Mae Loyd; one nephew, Floyd Reed; and numerous cousins, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, and friends. Doshie was preceded in death by her husband, William "Doc" Jamison Chandler in 2011; her father, Rocky Troglin; her mother, Doshie Mae (West) Dardin; and her great grandson, Kenny Hagans. A memorial service celebrating Doshie's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. John Miller officiating.
