Dortha Martin

Dortha M. Martin of Coweta, age 90, a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and aunt, passed away Monday evening, March 18, 2013 at her home in Coweta, OK surrounded by her family. Dortha was born on December 21, 1922 in Granite, OK and was the daughter of Harlan C. and Ruth E. (Worley) Reynolds. Dortha was a 1940 graduate of Checotah High School. Dortha and Roy E. Martin were united in marriage on December 24, 1942 in Mangum, OK. Dortha owned and operated Dortha's Flowers & Gifts for 15 years until she retired. Dortha was also a beautician and owned a Dry Good Store. Dortha was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coweta. Dortha enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling and playing bridge and dominoes. Dortha is lovingly survived by her husband of 70 years, Roy Martin of the home; her son, Ronnie Martin and wife, Patty, of Coweta; her daughter, Barbara "Bobbie" Sanders and husband, Jim, of Coweta; her sister, Verna Lee Carr of Coweta; 4 grandchildren, Natalie Sanders, Karen Knapp, Jennifer Miller and Rusty Martin; 10 great grandchildren, Amanda, Bailey, Ryan, Rusty Jr., A.J., Kristabella, Johna, Gage, Garrett and Megan; 5 great-great grandchildren, Teagan, Kayden, Londyn, Addison and Annabella; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dortha was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Lorene Sexton and her brother, Sonny Reynolds. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, March 20, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Rusty Martin, Ryan Chesser, Garrett Knapp, Coleman Sexton, Eddie Reynolds and Frank August. Honorary Pallbearers are A.J.
