Dorothy Brewer

Dorothy Joan Brewer, age 78, of Coweta departed from this life on Tuesday morning, October 5, 2010 at her residence in Coweta, OK with her loving family members at her bedside. She was born on August 14, 1932 in Pittsburg, KS to William J. and Helen (Rockwell) Huntington. Dorothy was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. She attended school in Pittsburg, KS and in 1950 she graduated high school in Kansas City, MO. Dorothy and Oren Brewer were married on September 8, 1953 in Van Buren, AR. She worked as a registered nurse at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK for 36 years until she retired in 1991. Dorothy had previously worked and received her training to become a registered nurse at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Ft. Smith, AR. Her hobbies included bowling, camping, boating, playing the piano and she enjoyed spending time with her family. Dorothy is lovingly survived by her husband of 58 years, Oren of the home; three daughters, Patricia Sanders of Coweta, OK, Mona Gentry of Porter, OK and Lorie Peters of Porter, OK; one brother, William Huntington of AZ; six grandchildren, Dawn Robinson, Nathan Peters, Jessi Gentry, Sara Gentry, Cody Peters and Callie Peters; six great grandchildren, Spencer Robinson, Jacob Robinson, Chloe Peters, Makiah Looper, Jaycie Peters and Owen Peters; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services for Dorothy will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Heavener, OK. Family and friends may send condolences to Dorothy's family online @ www.wrightfh.net.
