Dora Verlene Sanders

Dora Verlene Sanders, age 84, Broken Arrow resident went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, October 17, 2019 at Leisure Village Health Care Center in Tulsa, OK. Verlene was born on February 4, 1935 in Marshall, AR and was the daughter of Thomas Hale and Sarah (Kimbrell) Beavers. She received her education in Marshall, AR and graduated from Marshall High School. Verlene married Damon Wayne Daulton on June 8, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1983. In 1991, she met and married Gerald Lee Sanders and he preceded her in death in 2002. Verlene worked hard her whole life and spent most of it at Hewlett Packard in California, and then worked a second time at the City of Broken Arrow in Oklahoma, where she built lifelong friends. Verlene was a very loving and caring woman, with a multitude of friends she kept thru her life. She was generous to a fault but could never keep herself from giving. Verlene loved animals, especially her dogs and treated them as her children. She also loved to garden and sew and did so as long as her mind and body could do it. Verlene was a great woman of faith and she touched many lives. Verlene is survived by her son, Mike W. Daulton of Broken Arrow, OK; her daughter, Lisa Lynn Pitts; her brother, John Beavers and wife Jeannie of Beavers, AR; five grandchildren, Kandice Daulton, Damon Daulton, Dylan Daulton, Kaylynn Pitts, and Paige Pitts; two great grandchildren, Luke Daulton and Josie Daulton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Verlene was preceded in death by her husbands, Damon Daulton and Gerald Sanders and her parents, Thomas and Sarah Beavers. A memorial service celebrating Verlene's life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Brody Morris officiating.
