Donna Faye Waits

Donna Faye Waits, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023, in Coweta, OK, at the age of 72. She was born on November 30, 1950, in Emporia, KS, to William Silas Waits, Jr. and Jodie (Henson) Waits. Donna's 72 years were filled with hard work, love for her family, and a passion for crafts and quilting.

Donna dedicated her professional life to serving others. She started her career as a Switchboard Operator at Southwestern Bell, where she became known for her friendly voice and helpful demeanor. She later transitioned to a role as a clerk at Walmart, where her tireless work ethic and warm personality continued to shine, endearing her to customers and colleagues alike.

With a heart full of love and hands skilled in craftwork, Donna found joy in creating beautiful quilts and tending to her flowers. Her love for crafts was only surpassed by the love she had for her family. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come.

Donna is survived by her sons, Jonathan Taylor and his wife, Amanda, and Matthew Silas Taylor and his wife, Kelly, all of Coweta, OK. She was a doting grandmother to Tristan, Payton, Bryson, Kaylen, and Eva, who will remember her fondly for her warm hugs and infectious laughter. Donna also leaves behind her sisters, Mary Nieburg and her husband, Ron, of Missouri, and Cleta Savage and her husband, David, of Glenpool, OK, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Spencer Adam Taylor, and her brother, Bryan Waits.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK. Services celebrating Donna's life will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK officiated by Rev Harry Elzo. Donna will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK.
