Donald Wesley “Don” Cole, age 67, longtime Porter resident departed this life on Sunday evening, October 4, 2020 at Saint Francis Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Don was born on June 16, 1953 and was the son of Donald Harrison Cole and Leona Bernice (Jarman) Turner. He attended Porter schools and was a 1971 graduate of Porter High School. Don then went on to attend Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, Oklahoma and Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma where he earned his bachelor’s degree In Biology. He married the love of his life, Chandra Kay Gravitt on February 21, 2002. Don was a Game Warden with the State of Oklahoma for 35 years and retired in 2008. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cows, and being outdoors. Don loved being the boss and was a perfectionist in whatever he was working on.
Don is survived by his wife, Chandra Cole of the home in Porter, Oklahoma; his mother, Leona Turner of Porter, Oklahoma; his daughter, Taylor Russell of Wagoner, Oklahoma; his brother, Dale Cole of Porter, Oklahoma; his sister, Loretta Victory and husband James of Coweta, Oklahoma; his nephew, Dustin Cole of Porter, Oklahoma; his niece, Sara Cole of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Donald Harrison Cole.
Graveside services celebrating Don’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, Oklahoma with Pastor Charles Smith officiating.
