Dewey Dale Swarer, Sr. age 68, of Coweta passed from this life on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at his home. Dewey was born on May 31, 1940 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Dewey Ed and Rosie (Bates) Swarer. He received his education in the Porter school system and graduated from Porter High School. He and Ellen Pearson were united in marriage in Coweta, Oklahoma. Dewey worked as a meter reader for the City of Coweta for 20 years until his retirement in 2003. His hobbies included hunting and doing yard work. Left behind to cherish his memories is one son, Dewey Dale Swarer, Jr. and his wife, Charity of Muskogee; one daughter, Clarice Swarer of Muskogee; his father, Dewey Swarer of Coweta; two brothers, Jack Swarer of Coweta and Gene Swarer of Okmulgee; one sister, Dorothy Clayton of Coweta; one granddaughter, Crystal Swarer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, his wife, one sister, and one brother. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Vernon Cemetery Pavilion in Coweta with Rev. Brody Morris officiating.
