Denzel Allen

Denzel H. Allen of Coweta passed away on Friday morning, November 26, 2010 at the Claremore Veterans Center in Claremore, OK at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 5 days. He was a loving father and grandfather to his family. Denzel was born on July 21, 1919 in Filley, Missouri to the late W. Harrison and Hazel Bell (Bullington) Allen. He has lived in the Coweta area for the past 12 years. Denzel worked as a linesman for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 32 years until he retired. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Denzel enjoyed fishing. Denzel is survived by two sons, Derek Allen of Claremore, OK and Dana Allen of Michigan; two daughters, Myra Jean Yarbrough of Arkansas and Cheryl Jean of California; 3 grandchildren, Michael Allen, Kayla Allen and Dillon Allen, all of Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Harold Allen and Glen Allen and 1 sister, Delphine Cody. A memorial service for Denzel will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Pastor Jody Bentley officiating.
