Delores Phillips

Delores Geraldine Phillips of Coweta, age 80, passed away Tuesday morning, February 7, 2012 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Delores was born on February 14, 1931 in Checotah, OK to her parents, J.D. and Medie (Lowe) Ross. Delores was a 1947 graduate of Moss High School in Holdenville, OK. She and Jefferson A. Phillips were married on April 15, 1949 in Las Vegas, Nevada and have spent over 62 years together. Delores worked as a grocery clerk at Hammer & Williams Company for 15 years. Delores was an avid reader and she enjoyed gardening. Delores is lovingly survived by her husband, Jefferson Phillips of the home; her son, Robert Phillips and wife, Peggy, of Hulbert, OK; two brothers, Felix E. Ross and wife, Linda, of Stockton, CA and Tommy L. Ross and wife, Barbara, of White Plains, MO; two sisters, Evelyn J. Shinpoch of Houston, TX and Linda Byrd of Bristow, OK; two grandchildren, Chad Brown and Brandy Phillips-Small and husband, Stephen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Delores was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Lavon Rainwater and Faye Louise Henderson. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, February 8, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A graveside service for Delores is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Fields Cemetery in Porum, OK with Rev.
