Delbert Lee Hand, age 80, of Coweta, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, March 20, 2008. Delbert was born on July 27, 1927 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Delbert D. and Laura May (Bellgraph) Hand. He received his education in the Coweta school system and graduated from Coweta High School. Delbert and Kathleen Claver were united in marriage on December 22, 1944 in Coweta, Oklahoma. Delbert worked as a machinist at Wheatly Pump and Valve. He also worked for Tulsa Winch for four years and Continental Can Company for ten years. He was a member of the Shahan Freewill Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and playing the steel guitar. Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Lee Bailey of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Linda Kay Wisener of Tuttle, Oklahoma, and Vicki Ann Brugioni of Des Moines, Iowa; three sisters, Beaulah M. Stone of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Pauline Gammel of Arkansas, and Hazel Wright of Coweta, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, and one brother, and one sister. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. Lynn Moss officiating. Interment will follow.
