Dayna Jo Gilbert

Dayna Jo Gilbert, age 53, of Hennessey, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK just 3 days after her husband, Ray. Dayna was born on November 29, 1963 in Stilwell, OK and is the daughter of Danny Lee Vardeman and Jody (Adair) Hughes. She married the love of her life, Ray Gilbert on January 31, 1981 in Broken Arrow, OK. Dayna and Ray owned and operated the sawmill in Coweta for many years and most recently the Sawmill Inn in Hennessey, OK. Dayna was also a devoted homemaker who loved caring for her family, especially her husband. She enjoyed reading, listening to preaching on TV and she loved attending her children's sporting activities. Dayna was also very artistic and creative. Her husband and her children were her life. Dayna is preceded in death by her father, Danny Lee Vardeman. Dayna is survived by her 2 children, Alissa Towner and husband, William of Sapulpa, OK and Derek Gilbert and wife, Sarah of Hennessey, OK; her mother, Jody Hughes and husband, Mike of Broken Arrow, OK; 1 brother, Danny Wayne Vardeman of Kansas City, KS; 1 sister, Kelly McCormick and husband, Richard of Broken Arrow, OK; 4 grandchildren, Lenora Stites, Rayna Towner, Liam Towner and Remi Jo Towner; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 PM. Services celebrating Ray & Dayna's lives will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, OK with Rev. Ed Rutherford officiating and Pastor Larry Duncan assisting. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamiyfuneralhome.com.
