David Y. MacLean of Broken Arrow, OK, age 85, a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at his home in Broken Arrow, OK. He was born on January 29, 1926 in Chatham, MA to his parents, Thomas and Florence (Young) MacLean. David graduated high school in Massachusetts and then attended technology school. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he enlisted in the Navy on March 10, 1943 and was honorably discharged on May 5, 1946. David and Eleanor Beals were married on March 3, 1951 in Gonic, NH. They came to Oklahoma in 2001 from Grass Valley, CA. He worked as an airline mechanic for United Airlines for 31 years until his retirement in 1984. David was a member of the American Legion in California. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, photography, woodworking and being outdoors. David is lovingly survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor of the home; his son, Charles Edward MacLean of Tulsa, OK; his three daughters, Evelyn Smith of MA, Arlene Hamilton of Broken Arrow, OK, and Beverly Cowen of Broken Arrow, OK; his brother, Robert Peters of MA; his sister, Vivian Spencer Wynot of MA; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. David was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. A graveside service with full military honors will be at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Ft.
