David Livesay

David W. Livesay, age 88, of Porter, OK passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, September 16, 2013 at Forest Hills Health Care Center in Broken Arrow, OK. David was born on June 9, 1925 in Tuskegee, OK and was the son of C.D. and Maudie (Terry) Livesay. He was a graduate of Bristow High School. David was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving from December 1948 to December 1949. David and Madeline (Rudisell) Livesay were married on October 22, 1949 and she preceded him in death on May 8, 1977. David and Ramona (Wagnon) Livesay then were united in marriage on January 12, 1979 in Tulsa, OK. David owned and operated Livesay Orchards in Porter, OK for over 40 years. David was a member of the First Baptist Church in Porter. He was also a member of the Porter Lion's Club and the National Association of Letter Carriers. David enjoyed reading, listening to music, cars and working on the farm. David is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ramona Livesay of the home; 4 sons, Steve Livesay and wife, Brenda, of Porter, OK, Kent Livesay and wife, Dawna, of Porter, OK, Tony Woodward and wife, Mary Ann, of Tulsa, OK and Jon Woodward and wife, Donnita, of Columbia, MO; 1 sister, Allene Brickner and husband, John, of Houston, TX; 6 grandchildren, Melanie Warren, Brian Livesay, Kyle Livesay, Nathan Livesay, Anthony Woodward and Jordan Ecklund; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his first wife, Madeline Livesay, his parents, C.D. and Maudie Livesay, his daughter, Mona Ann Woodward and his sister, Catherine Livesay-Stevens. Funeral services for David are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Porter, OK with Rev. Dennis Piearcy officiating and Dr. Randy Rudisell assisting. A private burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK. Pallbearers are Brian Livesay, Kyle Livesay, Roy Essary, Marion Schauffler, Jim Shieldnight, Charles Smith, Rick Phillips and Bill Brown.
