David Gordon Colley

David Gordon Colley, also known as “Dave”, age 59, resident of Coweta departed this life on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.  Dave was born on September 1, 1961 in Chesterfield, England and was the son of Gordon and Gillian Elizabeth (Chadwick) Colley.  He received his education in Chesterfield, England.  Dave married the love of his life, Jennifer Lynne Miller-Mathis on June 28, 2012.  He worked in the coal mines surveying in his younger years in Wales.  Dave also did woodwork and refinished furniture.  He enjoyed watching birds, animals, wood working, fishing, going to the ocean, antiques, and cooking.

Dave is survived by his wife, Jennifer Mathis-Colley of Coweta; his mother, Gillian Elizabeth Colley; his five children, Samuel Colley, Joshua Colley, Bethany Colley, Ryan Mathis, and Joshua Mathis; his brother, Robert Colley and wife Jennifer; his nephew, Tom Colley and wife Michelle; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Colley.

A memorial service celebrating Dave’s life will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Larry Duncan officiating.
