David Gene Blackwell, age 71, resident of Porter went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday evening, December 7, 2019 at his home in Porter, OK surrounded by his family. David was born January 4, 1948 in Tulsa, OK and was the son of Jack Leroy and Lola Maxine (Logsdon) Blackwell. He was a 1966 graduate of Memorial High School in Tulsa, OK. David worked at Safeway Warehouse in Tulsa as an Order Filler for 17 years until he retired. He married the love of his life, Carol Ann (Painter) Blackwell on June 17, 1983. David was a member of the Coweta Assembly of God and the Capital Oil Rod & Gun Club in Coweta. He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, and bow hunting. David loved his family, life, and animals. David is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Blackwell of the home; two daughters, Jill Rijkschroeff and husband Ray of Los Angeles, CA and Bethany Ann Bonnstetter and husband Mike of Coweta, OK; seven grandchildren, Emily Rebecca Rijkschroeff, Erik Raymund Rijkschroeff, Katrina Jewell Rijkschroeff, Garrett David Rijkschroeff, Shane Joseph Bonnstetter, Andrew David Bonnstetter and wife Lissa, and Austin Michael Bonnstetter and wife Martina; one great granddaughter, Ava Grace Bonnstetter; one brother, Richard Dean Blackwell of Tulsa, OK; one aunt, June Blackwell of Drumright, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends, and church family. David was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Leroy and Lola Maxine Blackwell; one brother, Sonny Blackwell; two sisters, Linda Kay and Donna Sue; and his mother-in-law, Roberta Painter. Viewing will be from 12:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services celebrating David's life will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Coweta Assembly of God in Coweta, OK with Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Erik Rijkschroeff, Garrett Rijkschroeff, Shane Bonnstetter, Andrew Bonnstetter, Austin Bonnstetter, and Gerry Blackwell.
