David Berna

David D. Berna, age 71, of Coweta passed away peacefully on Monday evening, July 4, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on May 22, 1940 in Tulsa, OK to his parents, G.W. and Dorothy (Milliser) Berna. David and Zella Marie Brown were married on August 22, 1963 in Stilwell, OK. He worked as a barber at Dave's Barber Shop in Tulsa, OK for over 40 years until he retired in 2005. In 2000, David and Zella moved from Tulsa, OK to the Coweta area, where they have made their home for the past 11 years. David and Zella attended Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jenks until they moved to Coweta and they currently attend the Coweta Assembly of God. He enjoyed muscle cars. David is lovingly survived by his wife of 47 years, Zella of the home; his two sons, Gary Berna of Coweta, OK and Rick Berna of Tulsa, OK; his two daughters, Lori Berna of Nashville, TN and Tracey Vernon of Coweta, OK; his sister, Carolyn Roland of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. David was preceded in death by his parents. Viewing will be on Wednesday morning, July 6, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the Vernon Cemetery Pavilion with Pastor Larry Brown officiating.
