Darrell Hurt

Darrell Gene Hurt, age 63, of Haskell passed from this life on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was born on November 21, 1945 in Locust Grove, OK to Charles and Louisa (Blackfox) Hurt. Darrell received his education in the Locust Grove school system. He and Linda Smith were united in marriage on July 11, 1964 in Skiatook, OK. Darrell worked as a machinist for McDonnell Douglas for 20 years. He was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, bowling, and he enjoyed spending time with his family. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two infant brothers, and one sister. Darrell is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; one son, J. R. Hurt and his wife, Stephanie, of Coweta, OK; one daughter, Katrina Murphy and her husband, Mike, of Haskell, OK; five brothers, Ike Hurt of Locust Grove, OK, Pete Hurt of Tulsa, OK, John Hurt of Tulsa, OK, Jimmy Hurt of Locust Grove, OK, and Clifford Hurt of Locust Grove, OK; three sisters, Ailene Leach of Salina, OK, Sally Shrum of Tulsa, OK, and Carolyn Durling of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren, Mitchell Murphy, Heather Murphy, Kylee Hurt, Cheyenne Hurt, and Shelby Hurt; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Grace Free Will Baptist Church in Broken Arrow with Pastor Mike Hutsell officiating and Pastor Bill Smith assisting. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m. at Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove, OK. Family and friends may view the obituary and send condolences to Darrell's family online @ www.wrightfh.net. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Pete Hurt, John Hurt, Jimmy Hurt, Clifford Hurt, and Ike Hurt.
