Darlene Wilson

Darlene Wilson, life-long Coweta resident, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at her home in Coweta, OK, on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the age of 85. She was born on September 15, 1938, in Coweta to Jay and Lurline (Hester) Potter.

Darlene was a proud graduate of Coweta High School, class of 1956. She was married to Loyd J. Wilson on June 23, 1958. After graduation, she dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. Her home was always filled with warmth and love, a testament to her nurturing spirit. She was a pillar of strength and resilience, always putting her family's needs before her own.

Her interests were as diverse as they were passionate. She had a green thumb and loved spending time in her garden, nurturing plants with the same care she gave to her family. Her artistic side shone through in her love for painting. Darlene also had a knack for finding hidden treasures, often spending time hunting for antiques. She had a unique talent for restoring things, bringing new life to old items with her touch.

Darlene was preceded in death by her loving husband Loyd Wilson, her parents, her daughter Dana Snyder, her sisters Margaret Woodward and Betty Denton, and her brother Oren Potter Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Cisson of Coweta, OK, and Kelly Wilson of Broken Arrow, OK, and her stepson Gary Million of Broken Arrow, OK. She was a cherished grandmother to Robi Holmes, Rachelle Homes, Devin Renshaw, Miranda Hampton, and Madison Snyder, and a doting great-grandmother to Caleb Duncan, Rory Wilson, and Saber Hampton. She also leaves behind her brothers Jay Potter, Terry Potter, Raymond Potter, and her sister Kathy Peterson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In her passing, we remember a woman of strength, love, and creativity. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation for Darlene will be held from 12:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK. A graveside service celebrating Darlene's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK.
