Daren Young

Daren Ray Young of Coweta, age 43, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 in Broken Arrow, OK. He was born on August 10, 1968 in Tulsa, OK and was the son of Darryl Ray Young and Karen Roberts. Daren graduated from high school in Mississippi. He worked as a pipeline welder for 20 years. Daren enjoyed cooking, fishing, going to concerts, music and spending time with his friends. Daren was always a happy person and loved joking with family and friends. Daren is lovingly survived by his mother, Karen Roberts of Coweta; his father, Darryl Young of Tahlequah; his brother, Jason Edward Gillenwater and wife, Lisa, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; his step-sister, Annie Kathryn Gillenwater of Tulsa; his niece, Caitlin Lindsay Gillenwater; his nephew, Lane Matthew Gillenwater; and other relatives and friends. Daren was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ben and Margie Young and his maternal grandparents, Betty Jean and James Bud Roberts. The family will be present at a visitation on Friday evening, November 11, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Allan Swinson officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Lane Gillenwater, Tony Roberts, Scott Cooper, Dustin Harris, Josh Caffey and Josh Steele.
