Dan Charles Bailey, age 68, resident of Coweta went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday afternoon, January 28, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK with his loving family members at his bedside. He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle to his family. Dan was born on December 12, 1942 in Broken Arrow, OK to W.C. and Lorene (Chance) Bailey. He graduated from Union High School in 1960. After graduating, Dan went on to attend Oklahoma Baptist University and Oklahoma State University for four years. He then served in the United States Air Force National Guard from September 16, 1965 to September 15, 1970. Dan and Terry Holmes were married on August 26, 1978 in Coweta, OK. He was a self-employed oil producer for over 35 years and he was also a cattle rancher. Dan attended the First Baptist Church in Coweta. His hobbies included fishing, cattle, traveling and he loved spending time with his family. Dan is lovingly survived by his wife of 32 years, Terry of the home; his son, Johnson Charles Bailey and his wife, Summer, of Broken Arrow, OK; his daughter, Elizabeth Bailey of the home; his two sisters, Wanda Lynch and her husband, James F., of Colorado Springs, CO and Patricia Bailey Eckman of Ft. Collins, CO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. and Lorene Bailey. Funeral services for Dan will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta with Rev. David Jones and Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 4 - 6 p.m. Family and friends may send condolences to the family online at www.wrightfh.net. Lynch, Jim Lynch, Randy Holmes, Ricky Holmes, Charles Holmes, Carl Holmes, Steve VanTuyl and Raymond Holmes. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Buck Holmes, Jim Jackson, Harold Chance, James Chance and Walter Williams.
