Clement A. Shoemake, Jr., of Broken Arrow, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Muskogee Regional Medical Center in Muskogee, OK at the age of 80 years, 1 months and 23 days. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Clement was born on January 13, 1931 in Bennington, OK to Clement A. and Alpha (Blair) Shoemake, Sr. He and Betty Chambers were married on November 7, 1958 in Tulsa, OK. Clement served in the United States Army. He worked as a Drop Forge Operator at Corona Clipper Company for 15 years. He then worked as a security guard for Williams Company for 5 years until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge #28 in Turley, OK. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, hot air balloons, horses and being outdoors. Clement is lovingly survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty of the home; his son, Michael Ray Shoemake of Council Hill, OK; his daughter, Janet Lynn Hopkins of Sapulpa, OK; his sister, Mary Jo Sturge of Oklahoma City, OK; three grandchildren, Jenny, Julie, and Charly; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
