Clay William Jewell, age 59, longtime resident of Wagoner, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday afternoon, February 13, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital South in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Clay was born on August 24, 1962 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was the son of Richard and Bernice (Wickling) Jewell. He attended school and graduated from high school in the Minneapolis, Minnesota school system. Clay worked as a cashier for Wal-Mart for nineteen years. He had also worked briefly at Hertz. He was a faithful member of the Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Clay enjoyed working puzzles and crossword puzzles, reading, music, and spending family time at the lake where he enjoyed seeing deer.
Clay is survived by his sister, Carol Pucel of Minnesota; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; and two very close friends, Lisa Burt and John Elliott.
Clay was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Bernice Jewell, his brother, Michael Jewell, and his sister, Charolette Burt.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas. A memorial service for Clay will be announced at a later date.
