Clarence "Pete" Dwain Hughes

Clarence Dwain Hughes, also known as “Pete”, age 72, resident of Cleveland, Oklahoma departed this life on Monday morning, February 15, 2021 at Cleveland Area Hospital in Cleveland, Oklahoma.  Pete was born on June 7, 1948 in Coweta, Oklahoma and was the son of Clarence C. and Velma L. (Weaver) Hughes.  He was a graduate of Cleveland High School.  Pete was truck driver and worked on the Alaska Pipeline.  He enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with his family.

Pete is survived by five children, Dwaina Smith, Danielle Alford, Samuel Hughes, Michelle Bankston, and Crystal Rowell; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence C., and Velma L. Hughes.

Graveside services celebrating Pete’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
