Cheryle Ann Harbison, age 69, resident of Haskell, Oklahoma, departed this life on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Cornerstone Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Cheryle was born on November 23, 1951 in Fort Eustis, Virginia. She was the daughter of Charles Lewis Switzer II and Doris Inez (Wilson) Switzer. Cheryle was a graduate of Hazelwood High School in Hazelwood, Missouri. She married the love of her life, Leo Dwayne Harbison on March 26, 1976 in Meade, Kansas. Cheryle started her nursing career as an LPN then obtained her RN license. She was the Director of Nursing at the Coweta Manor Nursing Home, later retiring as the Director of Nursing for the Haskell Care Center. Cheryle enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and going to the casino, she also loved to read. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Cheryle is survived by her three children, Colleen Cheryle Thomas of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Eric Welker and his wife Janet of Meade, Kansas, and Walter Harbison and his wife Jackie of Coweta, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Nathan Michael Thomas, Kristi Nicole Welker, Erika Dawn Welker, Raistlin Zane Welker, Charles Benton Wilson Welker, Jax Harbison, and Jenna Sue Harbison; two great grandchildren, Christian Anthony Sierra, and Timothy James Welker; one sister, Reba Dubeau and her husband Kenny of Cypress, Texas; two brothers, Steven Lee Switzer of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Charles Lewis Switzer III of Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Cheryle was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Dwayne Harbison, her parents, Charles Lewis Switzer II and Doris Inez Switzer, and her son, Timothy Lewis Harbison.
Viewing will be from 12:00 PM -8:00 PM on Monday, September 20, 2021 with the family present from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. Services celebrating Cheryle’s life will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma with Janet Welker officiating.
