Charles Johnny "John" Day, Jr.

Charles Johnny “John” Day, Jr., age 75, resident of Porter entered into the Gates of Heaven on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at his home in Porter, Oklahoma.  John was born on February 8, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Chester Allen and Louise Gladys (Baldridge) Sinclaire.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam.  John enlisted in the Army on February 12, 1965 and was honorably discharged on July 7, 1971.  He was a traveling physical therapist and loved rodeoing.  John enjoyed watching movies, bowling, and he loved spending time with his family.

John is survived by wife, Kathy Day of the home in Porter, Oklahoma; his son, Cooper Day (Sherry); his daughter, Christie Johnson (Jimmy); his sisters, Jessann Crow (Ronnie), Jimi Day, and Joy Nofire; six grandchildren, Sunnie Shafer (Dereck), Tonie Turner, John Turner (Kaleigh), Kayla Marie Day, Yance Day, and Chelsea Day; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Allen and Louise Gladys Sinclaire, his son, Spencer Day, and his sister, Cindy Louise Sinclaire.

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  A memorial service celebrating John’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Coweta Assembly in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Lee officiating.
