Charles Spurlock

Charles Zachary Spurlock of Coweta, age 80, passed away Monday afternoon, November 7, 2011 at Leisure Village Health Care Center in Tulsa, OK. He was born on March 18, 1931 in Coweta, OK and was the son of James M. and Ada (Warfield) Spurlock. Charles was a graduate of Sapulpa High School. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Charles enlisted in the Navy on December 9, 1955 and was honorably discharged on September 6, 1957. Charles and Toni Jo Garcia were married and she preceded him in death on February 8, 2006. He worked as a self-employed brick mason for most of his life. Charles is survived by his four children, Delany Matheny of Tulsa, OK, Judy Lysiak and husband, Conrad, of Spokane, Washington, Charles Spurlock and wife, Pearl, of Detroit, Michigan and Renda Buckley and husband, Joe, of Texas; his three step-children, Whit Privette and wife, Tonya, of New Hampshire, Ashley Oliver and husband, Vance, of West Plains, Missouri and Jennifer Duncan of Tulsa, OK; his Lucille Spurlock and husband, Jack, of Claremore, OK; 12 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Toni Jo Spurlock, and two sisters, Myra Taylor and Maxine Fletcher. A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 09, 2011 at Leisure Village Health Care Center in Tulsa, OK.
