Charles Randall was born in Columbus, Kansas August 23, 1947, and while he moved many times growing up, he considered Wagoner, Oklahoma his hometown.

He attended Northeastern State University in 1966, and graduated in 1969 with two bachelor of science degrees, one in Mathematics and a second in Chemistry. He was chosen for an interesting summer Research job for OSU in 1968 where he collected, milked and analyzed Fiddle-back Spider Venom.

Charles began his professional career in 1970 as a district petroleum chemist for Dowell Laboratories, but was soon drafted by the U.S. Army and sent to Vietnam to test Helicopter and aircraft fuel among other things, before coming home in 1972 as a Sergeant.

He then worked as a Metallurgical Chemist at Bryon Jackson laboratories in Tulsa. While working, Charles was enrolled at the University of Tulsa, and graduated in 1978 with a Chemical Engineering degree. Upon graduation, he went to work for Conoco in Ponca City as a Refinery Chemical Engineer, and in 1980, relocated to Billings, Montana. In his off time, he enjoyed skiing and giving tours of Yellowstone Park to visiting friends and relatives.

Charles moved to Houston in 1984, and ultimately worked for Conoco for over 23 years as a Chemical Engineer. His team earned the DuPont Market Excellence award. His work included refinery design and technical support, refining economics optimization and trading coordination. He also served as Director of Fuel Management for Conoco’s Global Power division. After retiring from Conoco, Charles worked many years as consultant both corporately and independently for US and global projects.

In his later years, he was an avid reader, enjoyed researching varied scientific topics such as Helium-3 and solar flares and discussing them at length, and collected cookbooks. Most notably, he adored and was deeply adored by his immediate and extended family and would make trips several times a year to visit everyone, never liking to miss a Birthday or holiday. He will be remembered for his faith, his generous spirit, and his trademark sense of humor.
