Charles Ray Davis

Charles Ray Davis, age 79, resident of Coweta, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, September 9, 2021 at his home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Charles was born on May 31, 1942 in Tulare, California to Charles Jefferson and Alice (Hill) Davis.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Charles married the love of his life, Violet Sue Clifton on November 11, 1966 in Strafford, California.  He worked as a machinist at Borg Compressed Steel and retired from Oil Capital Valve in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Charles was a member of the Coweta Assembly Church in Coweta, Oklahoma.  He enjoyed fishing and coon hunting.

Charles is survived by his son, Charles Dewayne Davis of Coweta, Oklahoma; his daughter, Lori Wisdom and husband Nick of Coweta, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Lisa Reed, Michael Thompson, Shelby Huffman, Curtis Huffman, Cody Wisdom, Josh Wisdom, and Kendra Wisdom; three great grandchildren, Hailey Reed, Toby Reed, and Cambrylee Wisdom; his brother, Jim Davis of Washington; his sister, Dorothy Bloom of New York; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Sue Davis; his parents, Charles Jefferson and Alice Davis; his brother, Dickie Owen Davis; and his grandson, Christopher Lynn Davis.

Viewing will be from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating the life of Charles Ray Davis will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Coweta Assembly in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Lee officiating.  Charles will be laid to rest at Fields Cemetery in Porum, Oklahoma.
