Charlene V. Black

Charlene Virginia Black, age 62, of Coweta passed from this life on Thursday evening, May 15, 2008 at SouthCrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma after fighting a long battle with cancer. Charlene Virginia was born on January 21, 1946 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Charles and Edith (Thorton) Pruitt. She received her education in the Tulsa school system. She and Larry Dean Black were united in marriage on June 23, 1967 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Then in 1971, she and Larry moved to Coweta from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Charlene Virginia was a homemaker for most of her life. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, sewing, camping, and fishing. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Left behind to cherish her memories is her husband, Larry Dean of the home; three sons, Larry Dewayne Black of Coweta, Oklahoma, Charles Keith Black of Dallas, Texas, and Chad Alan Black of Coweta, Oklahoma; one daughter, Dee Anna Black of Coweta, Oklahoma; two brothers, Eugene Pruitt of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Donald Pruitt of Kellyville, Oklahoma; two sisters, Margaret Brandys of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Patricia Rainbolt of Muskogee, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Montgomery, Faith Trott, Elizabeth "Libby" Black, and Jacob Dean Black; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Coweta with Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home, Coweta.
