Cecil Lee Lowe

Cecil Lee Lowe Sr., 70 year old Coweta resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He was born on June 25, 1943 in Claremore, OK to Clyde and Julia (Vest) Lowe. Cecil was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1960 to 1962. He and Sophia Chalakee were united in marriage on September 15, 1963. Cecil owned and operated Lowe Construction. He built homes and worked in construction for most of his life. Cecil enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, family cookouts and he loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and his friends. He always enjoyed visiting with people and he never met a stranger. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Beverly Lowe and a brother, Lawrence Doyle. Cecil is survived by his wife, Sophia Lowe of the home in Coweta, OK; 1 daughter, Lisa Thompson and husband, Terry, of Coweta, OK; 3 sons, Terry Lowe and wife, Terraine, of Broken Arrow, OK, Cecil Lee Lowe Jr. and wife, Robin, of Checotah, OK and John Doyle and wife, Melissa, of San Diego, CA; 1 sister, Tina Anderson and husband, Steve, of Coweta, OK; 2 brothers, Charles Nichols and wife, Phyllis, of Colorado Springs, CO and Clyde Lynn Lowe Jr. and wife, Diane, of Kansas City, KS; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 am - 7 pm on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with his family greeting friends from 6-7 pm. An Indian Wake Service will be at 7 pm on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating the life of Cecil will be at 2 pm Friday, June 27, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Casket Bearers are Terry Lowe, Cecil Lee Lowe Jr., John Doyle, Terry Thompson, Kenny Ingram, Corey Lowe, Shane Lowe and Dennis Cornelius.
