Cecil Brooks Gage

Cecil Brooks Gage, age 78, of Coweta departed this life on early Monday morning, April 27, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born on July 18, 1930 in Des Arc, AR to Emanuel and Callie Ann (Greene) Gage. Brooks was a loving, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his family. He attended school in Des Arc, AR through the 10th grade. Brooks owned and operated B&J Heavy Equipment for over 30 years. In 1989, he moved to the Coweta area from Desoto, TX. He and Edith Willhite were united in marriage on November 20, 1999 in Coweta, OK. Brooks was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Coweta. His hobbies included fishing, camping, woodworking, and he loved spending time with his family. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Brooks is lovingly survived by his wife, Edith of the home; two sons, Ronald Gage and his wife, Gloria, of Santa Rose, NM and Melvin Gage and his wife, Sharon, of Cord, AR; six step-sons, Richard Lormer and his wife, Deena, of Coweta, OK, Robert Lormer of Coweta, OK, Craig Lormer and his wife, Diane, of Mesquite, TX, Mike Lormer and his wife, Teresa, of Coweta, OK, John Kinzey of Coweta, OK, and Mickey Kinzey and his wife, Bobbi, of Catoosa, OK; two daughters, Jeanette Lovell and her husband, David, of Cake City, AR and Barbara Welsh of Benton, AR; one step-daughter, Cindy Wills and her husband, Ron, of Coweta, OK; one brother, Lawrence Gage of Little Rock, AR; one sister, Pat Griffin and her husband, Paul, of Sheridan, AR; 33 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church in Coweta with Pastor Gary Rogers and Pastor Steven Lee officiating. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Vernon Yocham, Larry Hurt, Rick Holmes, Clarence Guthrie, Tom Hudgins, Ed Greene, and C.D. Pearson. Music will be provided by Carl Davis and Bobby Goines.
