Carolyn Ann Downs

Carolyn Ann Downs, age 72, longtime resident of Coweta went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, October 15, 2015 in Tulsa, Okla. Ann was born on June 24, 1943 to Virgil Freeman and Martha Louise (Robinson) Wynn in Paris, Tenn. She and Richard L. "Rick" Downs were married on January 25, 1963 in Paris, Tenn. Ann worked as a librarian at the Coweta Public Library for many years until she retired. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Coweta. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting and gardening. Ann was preceded in death by her parents. Ann is lovingly survived by her husband of 52 years, Rick Downs of the home in Coweta, Okla.; 1 daughter, Lori Menees and husband John of Wagoner, Okla.; 1 son, Steve Downs of Camden,Tenn.; 3 sisters, Betty Henson and husband Jim, Kay Reeves and husband Mike and Mary King and husband Neil; 1 brother, Bill Wynn and wife Pat; 3 grandchildren, Amanda Harris, Matthew Menees, and Elizabeth Menees; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 7 PM on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5-7 PM. Funeral services celebrating Ann's life will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, Okla. with Rev. David Jones officiating.
