Carolee 'Corky' Denton

Carolee "Corky" Denton, age 73, resident of Coweta passed away on Friday afternoon, April 24, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Corky was born on January 7, 1942 to George Alexander and Eula (McGee) Murphy in Tulsa, OK. She married Jerry Loyd Denton on April 19, 1964 in Pryor, OK. Corky owned and operated Corky's Drive-In in Broken Arrow, Murphy's Restaurant in Broken Arrow, The Frame Shop in Coweta and Frames and More in Broken Arrow. After retiring, she was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. She enjoyed cooking, painting, gardening, fishing and going to the lake, going to church and her Bible study group and she loved spending time with her family. Corky was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Georgia Ann Denton, 2 brothers, Patrick Phillip Murphy and Michael Phillip Murphy and 3 great granddaughters, Ally, Emily and Presley Jones. Corky is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jerry Loyd Denton of Coweta, OK; 1 daughter, Jana Sunderland (Randy) of Coweta, OK; 1 son, Jerry Wayne Denton (Elena) of Broken Arrow, OK; 1 sister, Delores Creekmore (Wayne) of Jenks, OK; 1 brother, Ronnie Murphy (Wilda) of Catoosa, OK; 7 grandchildren, Randy Lee Sunderland (Lori), Blake Sunderland (Julie), Adriane Jones (Casey), Alex Denton (Chelsea), Bryce Denton (Alex), Patrick Lee Denton and Mikala Lynn Denton; 5 great grandchildren, Benjamin Sunderland, Shane Sunderland, Zachary Jones, Rylan Sunderland and Camille Denton; 1 sister-in-law, Debbie Murphy of Wagoner, OK; 1 aunt, Velma Jean Condit of Ceres, CA; 1 uncle, Jim Tidwell of Edmond, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Corky's life will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Faith Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK with Pastor Michael Hamm officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 2800 South First Place, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
