Carol Ann Arledge

Carol Ann Coldwell Arledge of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma was born February 10, 1940 in Amarillo, Texas to Albert and Kathryn Woodbridge Coldwell.
In her youth, Carol was active in Girl Scouts from second grade until she was a senior in high school. She would often spend time with family in Arkansas over at Grandma Pearl's house where she built special relationships with all her many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her Woodbridge family was very special to her and in 1995, Carol and her mother Kathryn co-authored a family history book, (Forefathers and Descendants of Mark Judson Woodbridge). Carol enjoyed history and genealogy and was a member of the Tulsa area chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Carol graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1958 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She received her Bachelor's of Science from Abilene Christian University in 1962 and her Master's Degree from Texas Tech University in 1968 both in Home Economics Education. She worked many years as a home economics instructorteaching young women to cook, sew, and manage their households. Carol also worked as a Home Service Representative for Oklahoma Natural Gas, and a county home extension agent. Once her boys came along, she stayed home to manage their household and raise her two sons. Carol had a true servant's heartshe was always willing to serve and constantly put the needs of others ahead of her own.
On July 20, 1968, Carol married her college sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Arledge. Demonstrating her skill as a seamstress, Carol sewed her own wedding dress, and made many of the items for her wedding party and her household. Carol and Bob were married for more than 49 yearscelebrating a life of service to the Lord. In 1972, Carol and Bob became parents with the adoption of their first son, David Allen Arledge. They completed their family two years later with the addition of a second son, Steven Edward Arledge. Both boys treasure the fact that their parents chose them as their sons. Carol was a supportive mothercaring for her boys and cheering them on at most all soccer practices and games. The Arledge family enjoyed traveling the country in their Volkswagen Campmobile and later their mini-motorhome. They especially loved visiting the national parks. In 2004 she eagerly welcomed her daughters-in-law, Erin and Deb, into her family, and later enjoyed her role as a grandma.
Carol was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was baptized on April 8, 1954 at the 15th and Delaware Church of Christ. Throughout her life she worshipped at various congregations including Abilene, Lubbock, Jayton, and Andrews, TX; West Islip, NY; and McCook, NE. She returned to Oklahoma where she has been an integral member of the Broken Arrow Church of Christserving in their clothing room, teaching children's classes, coordinating funeral meals, assisting in preparing the Lord's Supper, making quilts for those who could use a little warmth, and greeting in the welcome center. She served in partnership with her husband, Bob, and was a faithful Christian example of kindness and gentleness.
Surrounded by family, Carol peacefully passed on to eternal life on December 23, 2017 in Pawhuska, OK. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Bob Arledge of Broken Arrow; her two sons and their wives, David and Erin Arledge of Ballwin, MO, and Steven and Deb Arledge of Broken Arrow; four granddaughters, Madison, Brynn, Ella, and Tessa Arledge; nieces Katie and Sarah Coldwell of Dallas; and a host of extended family. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Kathryn Coldwell; her brother and sister-
in-law, Joe and Sherry Coldwell.
Viewing will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28. Visitation with the family will take place Thursday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Kennedy Kennard Funeral HomeBroken Arrow Campus.
Funeral services will take place at the Broken Arrow Church of Christ on Friday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.
