Carl Jefferson Gray

Carl Jefferson Gray of Coweta, age 78, a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away Monday morning, February 27, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital South in Tulsa, OK. Carl was born on July 8, 1933 in Jerusalem, AR to his parents, Carl Oscar and Annie (Freeman) Gray. Carl and Opal Ellen Gray were married and she preceded him in death on October 8, 1990. Carl then met Opal M. (Hess) Gray and they were married on June 13, 1992 in Tulsa, OK. Carl worked as a draftsman at Valmont Industries, Inc. for over 15 years until he retired from there in 1995. Carl attended the Coweta First Assembly of God as long as his health permitted. Carl enjoyed woodworking, building cabinets, and fishing. Carl is lovingly survived by his wife, Opal M. Gray of the home; his son, Gary Goodnight and wife, Dee, of Owasso, OK; two brothers, Oscar Gray of Beggs, OK and Wayne Gray and wife, Kathy, of Sand Springs, OK; one sister, Phyllis Davis and husband, Ronnie, of Benbrook, TX; his five grandchildren, Gary Goodnight Jr., Shane Goodnight, Jacob Goodnight, Donnie Keele, and Casey Keele; his great grandson, Denver Keele; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Ellen Gray, his parents, Carl and Annie Gray, his daughter, Carla Breshears, and one sister, Betty Lois Huffman. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, February 29, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services for Carl are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta with Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gary Goodnight, Gary Goodnight Jr., Shane Goodnight, Jacob Goodnight, Colton Sisco, and Tony Cason.
