Carl Edgar Faith, a resident of Broken Arrow, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 26, 2022, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.
He was born on August 11, 1939, and was the oldest child of four born to Charles E. and Lelia Josephine (Taylor) Faith. He attended several Texas schools, his latest being in Friona, TX. He completed his schooling after 8th grade to help out on the farm. The family moved to Goodwell, OK, in 1959.
Starting in November of 1961, Carl proudly served in Germany for the Army, 3rd Armored division (Spearhead). He was honorably discharged in 1963. Upon returning to Oklahoma, he met the love of his life, Sarah Lou Reust, at a basketball game in Guymon, OK, and they were united in marriage on May 15, 1964.
Carl was a lifelong hunter and fisherman. He was active in the boy scouts for many years, including earning the Order of the Arrow with his son. He was well known for his talents in gardening and construction. Upon retirement in 2001, his kids asked what he would do with all his free time, and he promptly answered, “Take up golf.” His favorite pastime was tinkering in the shop, including creating fishing gear. Did we happen to mention that he loved to fish?
In the 1980s, he served on two work and witness teams in Jamaica and Brazil. Later, he also helped build and remodel churches in Guymon, OK, and Tahlequah, OK. For several years he volunteered at the Hands of Grace warehouse.
Carl is survived by his wife, Sarah Lou Faith, of the home; his daughter, Leona Kay Faith (John) Slane of Grace, ID, and their son, Kalen Weldon of Guymon, OK; and a son, Russell Gene (Marcy) Faith of Broken Arrow OK, along with their children, Jonathan Faith, and Jessica Faith of Miami, TX, Daniel Faith, Magan Wilson, and Cassandra Duran all of Broken Arrow, OK; his chosen grandchildren, Ian and Evan Wallace; his nine great babies which he loved dearly; his brother, Henry Eugene Faith; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
