Carl Easley

Carl L. Easley, age 82, of Coweta departed this life on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK. He was born on November 14, 1927 in Coweta, OK (near Coal Creek) to Clarence Elmer and Luella Mae (Higgins) Easley. Carl was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather to his family. He received his education at Lonestar School. Carl and Helen VanTuyl were married on August 25, 1945 and to this union there were two children, Jim and Sandra. Carl and Helen later divorced. He then married Arlene Cole on August 9, 1952 in Coweta, OK and to this union there were three children, Linda, Carla, and David. Carl and Arlene also later divorced. Carl owned and operated Busy Bee Restaurant for 3 years. He also worked as a barber for 15 years and a machinist at Braden Winch for 27 years until his retirement in 1992. Carl will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Carl is lovingly survived by his two sons, Jim Easley and his wife, Charlotte, of Porter, OK and David Easley of Coweta, OK; his three daughters, Sandra Lang and her husband, Junior, of Porter, OK, Linda Sullivan and her husband, Dennis of Coweta, OK, and Carla Long and her husband, Leslie, of Coweta, OK; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. Funeral services for Carl will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta with Rev. David Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Family and friends may view the obituary and send condolences to Carl's family online @ www.wrightfh.net. Pallbearers will be Dwight Long, Jerel Long, Bryan Carmichael, Dennis Sullivan, Brock Foster, Leon Foster, Jeff Phillips, and Carl Sisney.
