Carl Franklin "Frank" August

Carl Franklin "Frank" August, age 67, resident of Coweta passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, OK surrounded by his family. Frank was born on February 3, 1950 to Carl August and Carol (Adams) McConnell in Scotia, CA. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1969 to 1972. Frank worked at GCC Mid-Continent Concrete Company as a Truck Driver for 38 years. He and Brenda Booth were married on November 20, 1979 in Wagoner, OK. He enjoyed watching tv, working puzzles, working in the yard and watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Debbie O'Neal. Frank is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brenda August of the home in Coweta, OK; 3 daughters, Cristie Watkins and husband, Darrin of Coweta, OK, Bobbie Leaf of Coweta, OK and Shanna Wilkie and husband, Joey of Coweta, OK; 2 sisters, Chris Kelly of CA and Carla Simons of TN; 2 brothers, Mike August of CA and Mark August of CA; 8 grandchildren, Zachary August Watkins, Jason James Watkins, Lillian Marie Leaf, Rylan Joseph Wilkie, Raice Corbyn Speaks, Haylee Celeste Wilkie, Rowdy Ira Speaks and Haelynn Alcy Carlina Wilkie; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Frank's life will be at 1 PM on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at New Home Free Will Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Ron Gibson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Coday, Buddy Replogle, Tom Abel, Vince Holiman, Don Shackelford, Mike Monerou, Jim Bomar and Andy Jones.
