Calvin Hogan

Calvin Lee Hogan, resident of Coweta, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 24 days. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather to his family. Calvin was born on April 21, 1936 in Coweta, OK to Carl and Grace (Acree) Hogan. He attended school in Coweta and graduated from Coweta High School in 1954. After graduating high school, Calvin went on to attend Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami, OK for two years. He and Peggy Denton were married on August 3, 1956. Calvin worked for Ford Glass Company until he retired in 1999. He also owned and operated Hogans 66 Station for six years and he was also a farmer and rancher. Calvin was a member of Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Coweta. He was also a member of Clean Air Sam Camping Club and Heel Cloppers Square Dancing Club. Calvin enjoyed camping, traveling, being out on the farm and he loved spending time with his family and having family cookouts. Calvin is lovingly survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy of the home; two sons, Mark Hogan and Dale Hogan, both of Coweta, OK; two daughters, Dana Fransisco and Janda Plunk and her husband, Sam, all of Coweta, OK; one brother, Kenneth Hogan and his wife, Sandy, of Dover, DE; seven grandchildren, Casey Fransisco, Ben Hogan, Kyle Renshaw, Jenna Fransisco, Sarah Hogan, Ryan Renshaw and Toby Plunk; one great granddaughter, Hailey Hogan; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Grace Hogan, one brother, Carl Gene Hogan and one granddaughter, Amanda Grace Fransisco. Funeral services for Calvin will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta with Rev. David Jones officiating and Rev. Sam Burnett assisting. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Hogan, Charles McMahon, Jimmy Rogers, Bobby Daniels and Floyd Isley.
