Buel Tramel

Buel Tramel, Jr., age 67, long-time resident of Coweta passed away peacefully, Thursday morning, January 17, 2013 at his home in Coweta, OK surrounded by his loving family. Buel was born on September 19, 1945 in Tulsa, OK and was the son of Buel Jack Tramel, Sr. and Zella Blanche (Smith) Tramel. Buel was a 1964 graduate of Central High School in Tulsa. Buel was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 1, 1965 and was honorably discharged on January 31, 1969. In 1968, Buel and Mary M. Tramel were united in marriage in Texas. Buel worked at American Airlines as a stock clerk for 38 years until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coweta and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 88 in Coweta. Buel enjoyed fishing, coaching sports, helping with church activities and work, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandkids. Buel will be missed as a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Buel is lovingly survived by his 3 children, Becky Sepulveda and husband, Julio, of Coweta, Jack Tramel and wife, Brandi, of Coweta and Stephen Luke Tramel and wife, Amanda, of Catoosa; his brother, Bill Smith and wife, Barbara, of Porter; his sister, Ann Dean and husband, Dennis, of Tulsa; 9 grandchildren; his special friend, Shirley Denton of Coweta; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Buel was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and grandson, Joseph. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, January 21, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services for Buel are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta with Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Julio Sepulveda, Dennis Dean, Jon Stauffer, John Buffington, Jr., John Buffington, III and Bill "Ruben" Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby McDermott, Scott Still, Vurnell Morgan, Floyd Russell, Ben Long, Frank Davis and John Petherick.
