Buel Clettis Sayles

Buel Clettis Sayles, age 83, was born January 10, 1936, to Harvey and Rosa Ann (Martin) Sayles, Sr, in Sperry, Oklahoma. Buel passed from this life Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Buel was married to Queenester Brown on November 30, 1955 in Dewey, Oklahoma. They had 10 children, six sons and four daughters.

He worked for TWR Foundry for 45+ years. Buel worked his way up to supervisor with the company.

On August 22, 1987, Buel married Rosella Austin in Chandler, Oklahoma. They had one daughter.

Buel is survived by his children: son, Buel Sayles, Jr. of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, son, Jackie Lee Sayles of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, son, Ray Anthony Sayles and wife, Sophia of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, son, Jerry Lewis Sayles of Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter, Anita Michelle (Sayles) Carey and husband, James E.F. Carey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter, Ester Regina Sayles of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, son, Joseph Sayles of Joplin, Missouri, son, Bobby Charles Sayles, daughter, Selina May (Sayles) Hyche of Wichita, Kansas, daughter Mylisa Danette Sayles of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and a son, Craig Sayles; three sisters, Joan Berry of Vinita, Oklahoma, Sadie Russell of Dewey, Oklahoma, and Nina Moore of Kansas City, Kansas; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Romena Bozart; and step-son George Murray, Jr., both of Sacramento, California, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends and daughter-in-law, Vicki Sayles of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Rosa Ann (Martin) Sayles; a daughter, Maria Murray of Sacramento, California; and six (6) brothers, Harvey Sayles, Dwight Sayles, Lorenzo Sayles, Curtis Sayles, Roosevelt Sayles, and Leonard Sayles.

Visitation will be held 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Broken Arrow Funeral Home, 231 East Commercial St., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, 74012.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, May 10, 2019 at Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ, 1400 SW Adams Boulevard, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74003.

Buel will be laid to rest immediately following the service at the Dewey Cemetery, Dewey, Oklahoma.
