Brian Earl Childress, age 65, resident of Coweta went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, April 22, 2022 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Brian was born on August 7, 1956 in Canyon, Texas and was the son of James “Jim” and Lucy (Byers) Dobbins. He attended Coweta Public Schools. Brian worked as a heavy equipment operator for the County of Wagoner for 10 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Brian loved art and was very talented. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and he loved working with his hands. Brian loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Brian is survived by his mother, Lucy Dobbins of Coweta, Oklahoma; two brothers, Martin Childress and his wife Sheila of Coweta, Oklahoma and Craig Childress and his wife Annette of Coweta, Oklahoma; his nieces and nephews, Amber and Steve Mashburn, Zeke and Erin Childress, Melanie and Dusty Yocham, Kevin and Andrea Childress, and Keli and Brandon Naylor; and numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Jim Dobbins and his brother, Joseph Franklin Childress.
Graveside services celebrating Brian’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. Ed Rutherford officiating.
