Bossie N. Ridge Jr. passed away July 25, 2014 at his residence. Born on August 1, 1933 to Bossie Ridge Sr. and Emma Hines. Bossie Jr. attended Carver, Dunbar, and Booker T. Washington Schools. He graduated with honors in music from BTW, attended college on a music scholarship. He performed with the Flash Terry Band playing jazz music on his saxophone. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on June 26, 1953 and was honorably discharged on April 30, 1955. He served in the Korean War. After serving in the military he married Billie Ann Burns, to this union Cheryl Ann Ridge-Foreman was born on Nov. 15, 1956. In a 2nd marriage Catherine Jeanette Ridge was born on July 19, 1958. Bossie worked for McDonnell Douglass and numerous other jobs in his life time. He worked 17 years for the City of Tulsa as their A/C Engineer Leadsman. Upon retiring from the city, he was active in landscaping and doing welding, arts and crafts at his residence. He is preceded in death by both parents, sister Bettye Jean Barnes and first wife Billie. He leaves to cherish his memory two loving daughters, Cheryl Ann Ridge-Foreman of Coweta and Catherine Jeanette Ridge of Dallas, TX and finance, Isabel Miralrio; one granddaughter, Amara Ridge and boyfriend, Clarence Jackson; two great grandsons, Amari Ridge-Richardson and Camrin Wade-Jackson; one nephew, Michael Barnes and wife, Ruby; one special unique cousin, Barbara Ann Jackson, caregiver; adopted children, Elizabeth Surratt (Will), Clay Braden and Larry Kimp; special friends, Columbus Reddin, Tommy Harris, Sonny Carr, Donny Coble, Walter Lewis (Annette) and a host of family and friends. The Ridge Family would like to give a special thanks to all of the St. Francis Home and Hospice medical personnel whom cared for dad. May god bless each and every one. Calvary Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. Vernell Bell officiating. Committal prayers and interment at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK will follow at 1 PM.
