Bonnie Scott

Bonnie Jean Scott, age 80, of Coweta went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday morning, October 8, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Bonnie was born on September 22, 1932 in Kiefer, OK and was the daughter of Leo and Lillian A. (Piper) Ockerman. Bonnie graduated from Kiefer High School and then attended Rogers State University where she received her Associates Degree. She and Gary Lee Scott were united in marriage on November 10, 1951 at Ft. Sill, OK and they were married for nearly 61 years. In 1979, they moved to the Coweta area from Chattanooga, OK. Bonnie worked at Texaco as a secretary for 20 years until she retired. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Her hobbies included square dancing, round dancing, bowling and watching sports, especially football and golf. Bonnie is lovingly survived by her husband, Gary Scott of the home; her daughter, Jacqueline Scott of Tulsa, OK; her son, Robert Scott of Muskogee, OK; her grandson, Joshua Scott of Atlanta, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Lillian Ockerman, two brothers, Robert and Merrel and two sisters, Ruth and Ruby. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, October 9, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Allan Swinson officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery.
