Bobby G. Walker

Bobby G. Walker, age 83, of Coweta passed away Monday morning, December 17, 2012 at the Claremore Veteran's Center in Claremore, OK. Bobby was born on May 29, 1929 in Coweta, OK and was the son of James William and Cora Mae (Pilant) Walker. Bobby and Edna Lee Carner were married on November 15, 1950 in Coweta, OK. Bobby was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He enlisted in the Army on December 6, 1950 and was honorably discharged on November 26, 1952. Bobby worked at Braden Winch as a machinist until he retired. Bobby enjoyed coaching baseball and gardening. Bobby is survived by his son, Bobby O. Walker of Coweta, OK; one sister, Cletha Parker of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers, Arnold Walker of Porter, OK and Granvell Walker of Wagoner, OK; two grandchildren, Michael Walker and James Walker; two great grandchildren, Adeline Walker and Caroline Walker; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, James William and Cora Mae Walker, his wife, Edna Walker, one son, seven brothers and five sisters. Funeral services for Bobby are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, December 20, 2012 at New Home Freewill Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Mike Sloat officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Michael Walker, James Walker, Wendell Walker, Mike Walker, Lawrence Stout and Roy Hunter. The family of Bobby G.
