Bobby Gene Taylor, 80 year old resident of Sand Springs, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, Nov. 12, 2014 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Talihina, OK. He was born on Nov. 24, 1933 to Jack and Esther (Gilbert) Taylor in Porter, OK. Bobby was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He enlisted in the Army in 1953 and received an honorable discharge in 1955. He owned his own Sheet Rock Company for many years until he retired. He enjoyed sports, fishing and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Esther (Gilbert) Taylor. Bobby is survived by 3 children, Jack Taylor and wife, Lynn, of Sand Springs, OK, June Storm and husband, Rick, of Sand Springs, OK and Bill Taylor of CA; 8 grandchildren, Jordan, Zachary, Parker, Melissa, Damon, Devin, Destiny and Erin; 2 great grandchildren, Elsye and Tristin; and other relatives. Viewing will be from 12 PM to 2 PM on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at the funeral home before the service. The funeral service celebrating Bobby's life will at 2 PM on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK. A private burial will be in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta.
