Bobby Gene "Bob" Gilbert

Bobby Gene "Bob" Gilbert, age 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, April 25, 2017 in Tulsa, OK. Bob was born on September 27, 1935 to Allen and Eliza (Wise) Gilbert in Oneta, OK. He and Phyllis Gilbert were united in marriage on November 2, 1956 at the Church of God of Prophecy Parsonage in Coweta, OK. Bob owned and operated Bob Gilbert Wrecker Service in Coweta for over 55 years. He enjoyed fishing, rodeos, racing and watching NASCAR and OU football. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Coweta Fire Department. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Eliza Gilbert, 1 brother, Ernie Gilbert, his grandparents, Bud and Della Wise and 1 brother-in-law, Johnny Hughes. Bob is lovingly survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Gilbert of the home in Coweta, OK; 2 sons, Bobby Lynn Gilbert and wife, Jennifer of Coweta, OK and Benny Gene Gilbert of Coweta, OK; 2 sisters, Joyce Drain and husband, David of Broken Arrow, OK and Barbara Hughes of Coweta, OK; 2 grandchildren, Jason Gilbert and Sarah Hall and husband, Cameron; 3 great grandchildren, Jonah Gilbert, Colton Hall and Rylen Hall; 1 brother-in-law, Don Gilbert & wife, Kay; 2 sister-in-law's, Lillian Stewart and husband, Glen and Janice Buttress and husband, Ron; his beloved dog, CJ; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Viewing will be from 12-8 PM on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Bob's life will be at 10 AM on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Coweta Assembly of God in Coweta, OK with Pastor Nick Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are John Edmiston, Steve Harp, Don Shackleford, Brian Hughes, Eddie Rothrock, Danny Hamilton and Jeremy Collins. Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Stafford, Andy Jones, Vernon Yocham, Mike Yocham, Doc Garrett, Dr. Louis King, James Murray, Bill Coday, Robbie Morton and Jimmy Rogers.
